Australasian Chapter Regional Conference - 3 February 2012

A regional Conference of the Australasian Chapter will be held on 3 February 2012 at the Monash University Law Chambers, 555 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne

The conference is intended to address current issues of practice, procedure and law impacting upon the work of members and to provide both a training opportunity and an opportunity to exchange views on issues of current importance.

AUSTRALASIAN CHAPTER REPORT July 2009

A full Chapter meeting by videolink and telephone was conducted on 29 May 2009 when the Chapter executive reported on recent developments.  The Chapter executive also met on 26 June 2009 and will meet again in early September.

The Australasian Chapter has continued its active programme of development since the election of the Chapter executive.  A very successful membership drive was conducted in April and May in Australia and New Zealand and the Chapter now has approximately 60 members.  The Australian Government recently announced the appointment of new members of the Refugee Review Tribunal and those new members have also been invited to join the Association.  In New Zealand, Chapter members plan to develop new links with the New Zealand judiciary.
