misconceptions that surround asylum issues.
It includes information on asylum claims, unauthorised arrivals and irregular migration in Australia
and Europe.

Australasian Chapter conference papers

Australasian Chapter Regional Conference, held on 12 February 2010 at the University of New South Wales Law School

The Australasian Chapter invited all members of the IARLJ to attend its regional conference on 12 February 2010.  The conference has not only brought together Association members from Australia, New Zealand, India, Japan and South Korea but also provided an invaluable opportunity to maintain the impetus of the Chapter’s Asian outreach programme.  In this way the Chapter intends to fill in the remaining gap in the geographical coverage of the Association in Asia.

Appointment Nicholas Blake

Our member Nicholas Blake has been appointed President of the Immigration and Asylum Chamber of the Upper Tribunal in the UK, which is to be established in 2010.
On behalf of the Council, the IARLJ President Sebastiaan de Groot has congratulated Mr Blake with his honourable appointment.
